9 Frame Analysis.

This song is basically about being high. It shows maybe what the guys see when they smoke as according to the lead singer it (drugs) "keep him sane" while touring and such.

These are the 9 frames I chose to analyse from the video.

8 sec: This shot starts the story off with the helpless girl possibly passed out from drugs and is in a world of her own. The shot is very low angled and you can not really see anything of the girl other than her legs. The surrounding is very dismal and blue.

20 sec: This is where the performance of the band is really kicked in.

1 min 15: Here you see from the perspective of the girl being shaken by Mitch to wake up and being slapped in the face a little.

1 min 40: This cut shows you more of the perspective of Mitch trying to wake the girl up and you see it from a different angle instead of hers.

2 min 01: This is a very trippy scene that almost looks animated a bit. The whole screen is red and there are a lot of black movements around Mitch as he is screaming the words.

2 min 09: This is a close up look of Mitch's eyes that maybe reveal a psychotic person or suggesting that Mitch is  trying to hypnotise the girl as she wakes up.

2 min 21: This scene shows the girl awake and she looks happy and normal, this cut only lasts a second though before you go back into her sleep state with the band preforming and Mitch yelling at her.

3 min 28: This is another close up of Mitch screaming but the colours in the video have become more normal as the video is winding down.

3 min 31: This is now a close up of the girls face sort of like Mitch's from before where he had the "hypnotic" eyes. Here from the eyes you can sort of see a scared person that has just woken up from this crazy video.

Task: Shot Count.

This video is Enter Shikari - Sorry You're Not a Winner.
The shot count I got for this was 85.

The shots at the beginning of the video start out slow like the song but change more as the music gets faster. As the lights go out and the music becomes more electronic the cuts also get faster.
The video has no direct link to the song so it is an amplified video but a lot of shots are cut to the beat. I am surprised that there wern't more cuts especially with the claps and such throughout the song.

Album Cover analysis.

The First album cover is The Devil Wears Prada and the album is called with Roots above and branches below. The album title is visually shown to the viewer by having a tree upside down. The tree is also curved to the right as if the tree had been growing for a while in the ground. The devil wears Prada's logo is clearly shown towards the bottom of the cover and you link the writing to their other cd and merchandise. The title is small and in a very plain font but is in all uppercase letters. The colours of the cd could be portraying night or sunrise// sunset with the yellow in the background highlighting around the trees trunk. The jaged floor can even suggest the tree being ripped out from the ground which could mean the band having rough times or the band having problems in their personal lives.

The second album I have chosen is All Time Low and is titled Nothing Personal. I believe this was their second album but the band was still relatively new to the scene when this was released. The cover makes me this of a teenager in college that scribbles a little bit in lesson because they are bored and feel they have nothing better to do. The band name All Time Low is in huge letters right in the center of the cover to stand out to fans (becuase of being relatively new) and the album name is still in uppercase letters but smaller than the band name, it is also sort of scratchy. The imagrey on the album is minimal showing a womans face with blanked out eyes, a admission ticket, a pair of feet, a pencil, and a few other bits and bobs. This could basically mean that they were scribbling ideas in a notepad and the cd is a relection of the ideas or thoughts of that notepad that they may have kept on tour. The face could possibly mean they see a lot of faces but aren't able to remember them all so it is like a lot of people are the same.

This third album is by a band called BrokeNCYDE. The bands image and music is all about partying hard and having fun and that is pretty obvious by the fact they are drinking 40's and other forms of alcohol in the back of their tour van. The tattoos can be represented as a sign of rebellion by the bands especially with the guy on the left having punk written across his knuckles. The parental advisory sticker also backs up that the band is very explicit and has some rude lyrics (it says explicit content). The title I'm not a fan but the kids like it is in referance to what a promoter told the band, that the kids that go to the shows obviously enjoy the music but a lot of the older people such as himself do not enjoy the music. The text on the ablum for the band name is very big as this was the first full length album the band was able to record. The title is in very scruffy writing and sort of hard to read because the photograph of the band is very bright and colourful that even with the pink highlight with white behind it is still a tough one.

This cd cover is for the first full length album by the band IWRESTLEDABEARONCE. They did many singles and Ep's but this was a full track listing that got sold in stores. The bands name is right at the top and as a new band they will have needed it to stand out, which they accomplished with the text repeated downwards a lottle but faded. The big sticker is also bold to tell you the cd is a reissue and that there is a competition with 5 golden tickets to win prizes from the band. The artwork is all over the place and doesn't really have anything to do with cd as far as I know. There are cutouts of many face and body parts and the random things such as chainsaws and bears.

Lies for the Liars was The Used's 3rd full length ablum. For the artwork The Used asked Alex Pardee to create characters that could go along with the cd. The character on the front of the cd is called Chadam and was made into a huge staple for the cd. This means the band had the head made and got people to wear it on stage for them to go with their set and even became a doll the band sold with their merch. Chadam could represent one of the band members possibly along with the other characters being made for other members, as inside the booklet each band member is holding a character. The writing for theband is their standard logo in the top left of the cd and is a decent size but not hugee as a newer band might make their name. Lies for the Liars text in the bottom rght isn't that big either and you obviously focus on lies and liars as they are a lot bigger than the words inbetween. You also link the branches from the writing to the chair chadam is sitting on, being they are the same. This could link the name to the artowrk and the same with The Used's logo.

Opie and Warhol Self.

My opie self was done on Photoshop Elements and is pretty realistic with the lips and mouth compared to normal. I have posted it as my default picture that is shown with the information on the left of my blog.

In photoshop I used many layers to create my face and to easily edit each layer if needed but to not disturb other things.

This is my warhol self that I created in photoshop.
